OSD Instructional Update 1/13/22

As you know Chris Dvorak; our superintendent sent out a letter/video regarding our temporary closure of OSD due to Covid. In case you did not see his letter/video; I would echo and support his concern and reasons for our temporary closure. The reasons are as follows:

  1. A high number of COVID cases and exposure among OSD staff and students.
  2. An extreme number of COVID cases across the State of Oklahoma.
  3. A forecast of an unprecedented number of COVID cases in the coming days.

As Chris stated; we know that in person school is best, but it is in the immediate and temporary best interest of our students, families, staff, and all Oklahomans to do our part in preventing the spread of COVID.

I would add in this letter/video some additional information. Please read the following regarding the near future at OSD.

  • We will not have school on line/through zoom or google classroom. School is on a break during this time.
  • High school students iPads will be turn off and not accessible starting Friday 1/14/22
  • Busses will run Sunday 1/23/22 at normal times and pickups
  • School will resume on campus Monday 1/24/22

Upcoming Events:

  • Basketball home coming is in the process of being rescheduled
  • Additional athletic activates will be addressed regularly moving forward
  • Please see link for more athletic information

  • High school students; please bring back your iPad and chargers when returning to school 1/24/22
  • Additional information can always be found on our OSD web page

I hope you and your family are all safe and well! The staff and teachers at OSD will be excited to get back to campus, see our students, and resume school. Until then please take your own Covid precautions to stay safe and keep others safe and well.
